FAQs
The answers to most commonly asked questions
Why should I trust you to create my portraits?
I'm very passionate and good at what I do. I have a knack for making people look natural and confident. I've had clients who swore they never looked good in photographs, but then they saw their portraits and are astounded with the results. My clients loved how I captured them whether in a posed position or in an unexpected real moment.
Photo sessions should capture the real you, both serious and fun at the same session. You want a photographer that is going to make you feel at ease and relaxed while also providing you with beautiful, joyful and love-filled images that you can treasure forever.
I know that you want MORE than some picture-perfect photo of everyone forcing a cheesy smile for the camera - you want those unique and hilarious moments that you share with one another every day captured, because those are the moments you desperately want to hold onto in the years to come.

Do you work with a contract?
Absolutely! Details about your photo session are included in the contract, along with a questionnaire to help get to know you and your family better.
Contracts are an important part of hiring a photographer. It sets the expectations for both the client and the photographer for you to receive the quality services and products you expect from a professional photographer. If you plan on hiring a photographer, you don't want to work with one who does not have a contract in place.
Another question to ask your photographer is "Are they licensed and insured?"
This is important to know. Some photographers "open up shop" and do not have the license to practice their trade. A licensed and insured photographer guarantees that you are in good hands and they take their craft seriously. They have invested in this to ensure their clients understand that the client comes first!
How soon should I schedule my session?
I recommend reserving your portrait session as soon as possible, as I accept a limited number of sessions weekly. During peak seasons, my clients often schedule several months ahead of time.
Depending on your schedule and mine, we may be able to fit in something on short notice, and I do typically reserve time in my schedule for less predictable things like headshots and last minute vacationers looking for family beach photos.
Pricing
All of my pricing is listed on the Investment tab. Please take a look there to choose the package that best suits your needs.
Let's talk about weather .....
Once we have chosen a date for your photo shoot, I always set up an alternate date with my clients to ensure them that we have a backup in the anticipation of inclement weather.
What to wear!
Before your photo session, all clients are emailed a style guide that will help you with this daunting question. The suggestions in the guide help to ensure that your photo shoot is esthetically pleasing. There are tips and guidelines that will help you to make great choices for this special session!
Senior Portraits
When planning your senior portraits, it's important to consider your yearbook deadline.
Most senior portrait sessions take place during the summer months, or sometimes early fall.
These appointments fill up fast, so if this is something you are considering, please contact me to set up your appointment before all slots are filled.
Family Gatherings and Beach Photos
Family beach sessions can be booked spring through fall.
I photograph these at Fenwick Island State Park in Delaware (just over the line from Ocean City, MD into Delaware).

Engagement/Couples Photo Sessions
There is a difference between proposal photos and engagement photos.
* Proposal Photo Session: Surprising your intended 'spouse to be' with a photographer (trying to hide), yet capture this special moment.
* Engagement Photo Session: This is for a couple that is already engaged and would like to schedule a photo shoot for their announcement.
Engagement and Couples Photo Sessions is the only type of photography that I do under this category. I do not photograph proposals.
Should I tip my photographer?
It is completely optional! A little under 20% of my customers tip, and the ones that do usually tip around 10-20%.
For photographers, (and their assistants) a tip is a lovely and unexpected bonus! This kind gesture is ALWAYS appreciated!! 🙂
Who does your printing for photo products?
I use only professional photography labs that specialize and provide high quality products made with archival materials.
This means your final product will not only look amazing, but it will last a lifetime!
You can see examples of the types of products that I carry on the "My Work" tab under the Fine Art Prints category.
Do you belong to any industry associations?

It's my passion to become the best I can be and then be better than that!
